The CDR-520 is a commercial series dvr that can record up to (4) cameras at a time. This system offers multiple input triggers to begin recording. An ignition source will start the recording of all 4 cameras and all of the other trigger sources can be programmed on how many cameras will record and even for how long. This system even offers motion detection, so if the vehicle is off, it still is monitoring the cameras and if it “sees” movement it will begin recording.
This system uses SD cards to store the recordings on. It can handle up to (4) individual 32GB SD cans for a total of 128GB of data. The recordings can be recorded in different qualities allowing for more or less used space depending on your preferences. The system offers cyclic recording, what that means is that it will save the information and fill the entire space up before it overwrites any of the information.
There are a couple of ways to view the information stored on the SD cards. You can connect the DVR to a monitor in the vehicle, you can remove the SD cards and watch them on a computer or you can plug in a USB drive and put the recordings onto that to watch them on a computer.
Another useful feature is the built-in G-sensor. This will force the system to record in case of an accident. Once the G-sensor is triggered, the recordings will automatically be stored as protected and can not be over written like the rest of the files. You can only manually delete these files or back them up onto a USB drive. The G-sensor’s sensitivity can be increased or decreased to allow the unit to start recording based on how high or low the G-force is. This system also offers a speed sensor that can record the vehicles speed during the recorded events. This system has multiple settings for recording options within the speed sensor settings.
The CDR-520 comes with a full function remote to navigate the different menus within the dvr. It also comes with the viewer software to download onto your computer so that you can view all the videos from the SD card.
